Wedding of 3rd Oct 1942 between
Anthony Benoit Guise and Joan Mary Dibdin

This photograph is of particular interest because
of the members of the family that have been identified.
It has now been clarified by Penny, their daughter, that the young lady next to
Paul Frankland is in fact Doreen Perrier, his first cousin once removed (one
generation below). Records show that Paul and Doreen were married in exactly the same
quarter of the year 1942 as Tony !
Penny mentions that he had been at the Dunkirk rescue ( in May -June 1940) and went on to fight in Greece and Italy.
It is uncanny that whereas Paul fought in the war and went on to live to the age of 98, his cousin Tony Guise never actually saw active service, except when sunk in the Mediterranean, and then drowned while swimming off the coat of Ceylon.
These two ladies above and on the left of Peter look definitely like two of Vera's Sisters | ![]() |
