Three Lives in World War 2

Appendix 13

Letter from Margaret Cowham to Joan

12 December 1940

By now Margaret and her 3 children must have moved from Cremona, Sutton to Cumberland, leaving the Montford Family in peace.

Margaret did tend to specialise in telling others how to run their lives and yet the tragic attitude and actions of both her and her husband in the name of Godís will caused immense suffering to one of their daughters.

The unpublished autobiography "Unspoken Hope" by Mary Cowham give details descriptions of life in the Cowham family.

Anecdote states that Margaret Cowham nee Dibdin expressed concern for her brother, Rex's soul, at his very funeral, because his wife left home and he lived with his housekeeper.
