This is here in error. It was painted by A.Aglio and should be in that section.

About the second Antwerp Cathedral Painting in the USA

The painting restored by someone working for the Smithsonian – quite expensive.  We had a fireplace chimney leak and the back of the framed painting was covered in mold which eventually got onto the painting itself.  Restoring involved floating the painting in a bath to kill the mold.

During that process the TCD signature (which was just like the top LHS  disappeared and the other one appeared (W.A.Church 1553) which is puzzling, especially if the info my mother-in-law provided is correct.  I am not entirely convinced it says Church.

My mother-in-law had taped a card to the back of the painting when it was left to me.
It said  “TC Dibdin, Oct 1884, London: Antwerp Cathedral. Framed by W.A. Church, guilder” .

Her mother purchased it on her honeymoon in England during the 1930s (second marriage).
